Science Illustrations

Spending so much time on colour trend analysis, its easy to forget that I went to university to learn how to be an illustrator, so it was really nice to be commissioned by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) in Maryland, to do these editorial pieces, especially as I enjoy learning about all things sciency in my spare time (mostly via the excellent Guardian Science Weekly podcast). The folks at the HHMI were lovely people to work for. Busted out the Wacom tablet.

As you can probably tell, these where both about genetics. The one on the right was also about the mouses ability to measure time using its acute sense of smell.
